Navigating Coincidences + Signs from the Universe

Meaningful coincidences or Synchronicity are ways in which the universe is sending you guidance and direction and also some very important life lessons. In our previous blog post, we explored the philosophical reasoning behind these occurrences . If you have not read that, it is linked below.

In this post we will see how we can use these signals from the universe to find our path, learn the right lesson, live our best life and really “grow with the flow”. Listed below are simple ways to open yourself to these experiences and allow yourself to really connect with the universe within.

1. Karma and the Law of Attraction

Most of us view Karma as this terrible and unforgiving being whose only goal is to make everyone’s life a living hell. In such an environment it is very easy to forget that like most things, Karma too has two sides. You just have to flip the coin in order to change your life and open up to positive change and growth opportunities. You’re probably thinking how do I do that? Or what on earth is she going on about? Just read on. I’m getting there.

“Like attracts like”, “what goes around comes around”, “what you sow you reap”, “manifest the right thing and everything you want will happen”. You’ve probably heard these phrases a million times now and are annoyed by them but I’m here to tell you how to really tap into their power and find opportunities for growth. Unlocking this potential is as easy as flicking a switch. Here is an example:

When your boss or teacher asks for a hundredth revision (I know I’ve been there too) on an assignment or project you’ve been working. And you find yourself dramatically sighing and cursing profanities at your boss or teacher. I know you don’t want to do the revision but you HAVE to do it anyway to pass the exam or get that promotion. So instead of saying “this project was already perfect and I’ve revised it over a 100 times. My boss is evil and hates us”, try saying “this project requires another revision perhaps to revise my own knowledge and to brush up on my skills.”.

It’s a small mindset shift that is all it takes. Think of every task as an opportunity for growth, learning and self-improvement.

2. Look for the Bigger Picture

When things go south it only takes a split second to blame ourselves and give up. It doesn’t have to be anything super big like a major project or assignment, even when small things like a home cooked meal not going to plan, will get the same reaction from most of us.

And in moments like these when you can feel yourself starting to spiral, you have to remind yourself to take a step back and really see things for what they are instead of what they seem to be in that moment in time. This is a very difficult thing to do. But like most things it becomes a muscle memory if you keep trying. And the reason why this is so important to do is because more often than not all of us get caught up in our own perspectives of what is, what can be and what will be and there is so much disappointment and self-loathing surrounding this when something goes differently. I know that certain things require a plan but that also doesn’t mean the plan or the steps you take can’t change and evolve with you. So don’t be afraid to tweak your plans every once in a while.

So remember to take a step back and remind yourself that the universe is there for you and will guide you as long as you are willing to work on yourself and are open to evolving.

3. Understanding Vibrational Frequencies

Each living being is made of the same structural component – atoms. Each of these atoms vibrate at certain frequencies. This means even non-living beings vibrate and have fixed vibrational ranges. The easiest way to understand this is by the example of foods. So when we eat a fruit raw in its natural, unprocessed form – you feel lighter and more energised than when you eat it in its processed and refined form like a jam for example. This is because the foods in their original natural forms not only have greater nutritional properties but also a higher frequency resulting in your positive mood. Similarly using essential oils and scented candles are said to calm you and help you really relax, the reason why they are effective is because they have higher frequencies and will in turn raise your frequency and energy.

Why am I telling you about frequencies? Well once you realise this and become aware of this concept, you will start treating things around you with more care. Energy like we all know attracts similar energy so if you radiate positivity and treat everything and everyone with kindness, you will receive kindness and gratitude in return. These emotions are very important because without humility, kindness and gratitude, we can never be happy.

How is this related to coincidences and the universe? Your desk, your bedroom, your kitchen all have frequencies too. And if they are unorganised or decorated in certain ways (aka feng shui) then their frequencies will drain your energy and you might not be as productive as you want to be. So make sure to go through your work and living space, clear out any clutter, add flowers or plants. These increase frequencies instantly and act as companions when you’re lonely.

Remember that progress is always better than perfection. Done is better than perfect. Keep trying and do not give up. The universe has got your back always. You just have to believe.
